Runes and Engraving in WoW Forever
This page states only what the client tables show. An Engrave spell is a spell the client names "Engrave <slot> - <rune>"; the ability it applies is the one its own description names. A rune item is an item with an effect that casts an Engrave spell. Where rune items drop, and anything else about them that happens on the server, is not in these tables. The Forever client's skill table carries lines named Engraving and Runes; it describes Engraving as "Higher engraving skill allows you to learn higher level runes and apply them to your armor and weapons. Runes can be found hidden throughout the world".
